1. The main behavior I have used to keep up with the
requirements for this class are time management skills. This class has three
main assignments per week that all take a few hours to complete. Some call for
multiple interviews, reading books, or extensive research. There are two
different days that lectures are posted and at the end of the week we have to
complete six peer reviews and a quiz. All of these tasks are not able to be
completed in a day or two, instead, it is important that I start at the
beginning of the week if not the week before in order to stay ahead. I have
other classes and responsibilities so managing my time effectively is crucial in
order to complete all my assignments on time. I feel like I had pretty good
time management skills before this class, but I have definitely had to develop
and improve them in order to stay on top of everything, especially in an online
class.
2. I would say my
lowest point was when I had a big project due in another class that needed
hours of research each day to complete. I usually have to work each day in this
class to stay on track, so having to keep up with both at the same time was a
lot and very stressful. What pulled me through this dilemma was the motivation
to get an A in both classes and knowing it would be worth it in the end. I do
feel like I’ve developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months
because I felt very unmotivated at the beginning of summer after a tough, long
Fall and Spring semester. Taking multiple summer classes have forced me to work
harder than I have before in order to stay ahead and get the grades I want. It
would have been very easy for me to settle with okay grades during the summer
and relaxed more, but I hold myself to a high standard and want to reach the
goals I set for myself.
3. The first tip I
would offer is to take the assignments seriously, don’t just do the minimum
amount of work every time. By doing this you will get more out of the class and
these skills will help you in the future. The second tip I would offer is don’t
wait until the middle/end of the week to start the assignments for the week. If
you do this the quality of your work probably won’t be as good because you will
be rushed to get the assignments done. The third tip I would offer is don’t
think of this just as a class to complete, think about it as the start of your
career because the majority of the things you learn in this class can be used
in a future career. These three tips support tenacity and will help you develop
a tenacious mindset.

Hi James! I think your post is amazing and that you are able to push through and accomplish what you needed to be done. I also start at the beginning of the week for this class just because it is time consuming and all the interviews. I liked how you said don't just consider this as a class because it is not. I think if your idea is strong you can really pursue a business.
ReplyDeleteHey James! I totally agree with you about you working hard and accomplishing what you had to do to fulfill your goal. You were very stressed and had a lot of activities and task going on so it is a huge deal also trying to manage to do all of your day to day life. Keep the good work up and your plans for your business.
